The
Stephen and Mary Birch North Park Theatre
is the crowning jewel of the North Park community. The Theatre, built in
1928, has been fully restored and is now a state-of-the-art 725 seat proscenium
theatre.
The restored Theatre encompasses the best of the old and new. Its facilities include a main stage, that measures 33 feet deep by 46 feet wide, one of the largest orchestra pits of any theatre in San Diego County, that when set at stage level increases the depth of the stage by another eleven feet, and the largest state-of-the-art Control Booth of any theatre in San Diego. The Theatre also has a single purchase fly loft with 32
linesets. With a lighting inventory of more than 200 instruments,
the Theatre is equipped to light any show, large or small. The Birch North Park Theatre includes two fully equipped
on-site rehearsal halls, making it possible to have one show in rehearsal
while a second show is in production on the main stage. The
Simon Rehearsal Hall measures 22'x64' and the Goodman Rehearsal Hall measures
22'x34'. |
